At Legacy Bridal Boutique, we have the privilege of working with so many incredible brides, and today we are excited to spotlight one of them: Lucinda. Her love story, her stunning wedding, and her unforgettable gown journey are a testament to the magic of weddings. This is Lucinda’s story.
How They Met
Lucinda and her now-husband met in 2018 at NAU in Flagstaff, Arizona. With mutual friends in both their circles, it was only a matter of time before their paths crossed. Lucinda remembers how it all started:
“Some of the guys in his fraternity wanted me to set them up with dates for their annual formal in Lake Havasu. I told them if I found them a date, then they needed to find one for me. They put my photo in their fraternity group chat, and my now-husband called dibs. We met up for happy hour with friends at a popular bar called The Mayor. We chatted for hours all night and hit it off.”
What began as a casual connection quickly turned into a love story destined to last a lifetime.
The Wedding Day
Lucinda and her husband tied the knot at the beautiful Saint Bernadette’s Catholic Church in Scottsdale, followed by a magical reception at The Ashley Castle in Chandler.
When Lucinda stepped into her gown, she said she felt like royalty. “I felt like an Italian princess in my ball gown,” she shared. Her groom’s reaction was priceless: “He was shaking when I met him at the end of the aisle.”
Surrounded by family and friends, Lucinda’s favorite moment was exchanging vows in the Catholic Church. The ceremony was followed by a night filled with dancing and celebration.
The Legacy Experience
Lucinda’s journey to finding her dream dress was not without its challenges. “I originally tried on my dress at another store but wanted it in white instead of ivory. However, that store could not create the gown of my dreams,” she explained.
That’s where Legacy Bridal Boutique stepped in. “Legacy was able to work with me and the designer to customize it exactly the way I wanted it,” Lucinda said. “My experience with Legacy was amazing!”
Favorite Memories & Funny Moments
Lucinda’s wedding day wasn’t without a few laughs. One of the more memorable moments came when her dress' elaborate bustle caused some unexpected excitement.
“My mom, sister, friend, and husband were all working to bustle me before our grand entrance. My sister had almost figured it out when the last bustle snapped and broke,” Lucinda said. As everyone quietly panicked behind her, her aunt walked in and offered a humorous distraction, asking for a safety pin. “I’m like the only one prepared for the day,” Lucinda joked, completely unaware that the pins she handed over were being used to fix her gown.
She didn’t find out what had happened until months later when they returned from their honeymoon and reviewed their wedding photos.

Advice for Future Brides
When asked what advice she would give to other brides, Lucinda’s response was thoughtful and encouraging:
“Don’t overthink things. The little details you’re probably stressing about are things no one else will notice or care about. Just do what makes you happy. It really is just a day. Be prepared for things to not go as planned, stay calm, and just move on with a smile.”
